RELIGIOUS AND MORAL INSTRUCTIONS

Virendra Nath Ganguly Memorial School, like most English Schools was found on the conviction that religion is an essential and integral part of human life. Therefore school opens each day with a brief devotional service. (Daily prayers, conducted in accordance with the traditions of the Church of North India, as a corporate act of worship, forms a compulsory part of curriculum). Staff and students assist the Principal in planning and conducting these worship services. Moral Science classes are included in the school curriculum.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION

The school being equipped with good play ground, has a lot of organized sports and games, children are encouraged to participate in these and attend physical education classes unless excused for medical reasons.

HOUSE SYSTEM

To foster healthy competition, team spirit, leadership and fair play, all students of the school are divided into four Houses .Each House is headed by one student known as House Captain who is assisted by a Vice-Captain and some Prefects. One teacher, assisted by a few other teachers, is appointed to oversee the House activities. Points are awarded to the students throughout the year for their performance in academics, cultural, literary and sports activities, discipline and behavior and the House getting the highest marks is adjudged the Best House of the Year. The student appointees of each House are also responsible for maintaining discipline on the school premises.
